LOURDES  - October 18-20, 2013

Sr Ghislaine participated in  a gathering of spiritual families organized by the Conference of Religious of France (CORREF).

More than 1,200 people, including 400 men and women religious and about 800 lay leaders, met in Lourdes for the second gathering of spiritual families.

Lay associations connected to religious institutes is a growing phenomenon in France where there are now 50,000 members of lay associations (there were only 40,000 in 2007) and 35,000 religious.

All live the charism of the founders/foundresses through a life commitment expressed in diverse ways.  In France, there are four branches of the Cenacle Family:  the Religious, the Fraternity, the Groupement Séculier (GSNDC) and the Apostolic Communion (CapNDC).  In addition, still in exploration, two laywomen are desiring to live a consecrated celibacy in the spiritual family of the Cenacle.

A truly exciting and hopeful meeting!
