Typhoon in the Philippines

Our community in Cebu, some of our sisters’ families there, as well as in Bohol were particularly affected when super typhoon Rai struck the Philippines. Rai left parts of Central Visayas and Northern Mindanao devastated. Relief efforts are ongoing as more than 400,000 severely affected families struggle to get back on their feet. Many of them have lost their homes and livelihood. Food and water remain scarce. Power has yet to be restored in many places. Christmas will surely be difficult to celebrate.

May Christ, who is our Peace, be close to all in need and give strength and courage to all those who are helping to relieve the suffering of our brothers and sisters.
